 | Edek Choros MSc (Geol), BE (Mining) Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Mr Choros qualified as a geologist and mining engineer at the University of Mining and Metallurgy in Krakow, Poland and moved to Australia in 1989. For the next 11 years, he worked first for the Electricity Trust of South Australia and subsequently as a private consultant in the coal mining industry. In 1999, he founded a successful coking coal project near Moranbah, Queensland known as Millennium Coal. Over a number of years, Mr Choros had developed a keen interest in how to increase the efficiency of coal and other carbonaceous matter. After retiring from the Millennium Coal project, he founded Ambre Energy for the purpose of developing new coal technologies. |
 | Michael Mewing BEcon President and Chief Executive Officer - Ambre Energy North America, Inc. Mr Mewing has spent the past 29 years in the international energy field, working in New South Wales, Queensland, Japan and Indonesia. He has held commercial, marketing and business development roles with BP Oil, BP Coal, Rio Tinto, PT Berau Coal and Millennium Coal. In 2000, Mr Mewing established a consultancy company, focusing on marketing and Business development activities in the Asia Pacific Region. Mr Mewing is a regular speaker at international coal industry conferences. |
 | Michael van Baarle BCom, LLB Director Business Development Mr van Baarle holds degrees in Law and Commerce from the University of Queensland. He commenced his legal career with a prominent Brisbane law firm in 1986, before moving to practise in the United Kingdom in 1990. In 1994 Mr van Baarle returned to Brisbane and worked for BHP Coal’s in-house legal team before ultimately becoming a partner at Hillhouse Burrough McKeown where he worked on the Millennium Coal project and subsequently became a director of Ambre Energy. Mr van Baarle retired from legal practice in September 2006 to take the executive position of Director Business Development for Ambre Energy. |
 | Steven Messiter BE (Chem), MBA, GA ICD Director Project Development Mr Messiter graduated as a Bachelor of Engineering - Chemical Engineering (First Class Honors and University medal) from the University of New South Wales in 1985. He has 25 years experience in the operation, design and project development of mineral processing and chemical plants, including 7 years with BHP Steel and BHP Engineering in Port Kembla and Sydney, 8 years with ICI Australia (now Orica) in Sydney and Melbourne and 8 years with Coogee Chemicals in Perth as Executive Manager – Major Projects. At Coogee Chemicals, he was responsible for the company’s capital investment and expenditure program and all aspects of project delivery from concept to commissioning. In May 2003, Mr Messiter completed an MBA at Curtin University and was accepted to the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He was elected as an executive director to Coogee Chemicals’ Board in November 2003. In November 2006, Mr Messiter joined Ambre Energy as Director Project Development. |
 | Michael R. Klein JD, MBA, BA Manager Business Development, Ambre Energy North America, Inc. Michael Klein graduated from Brigham Young University’s J. Reuben Clark Law School, Utah and with honours from the Marriott School of Management with an MBA. Michael was subsequently employed as a tax consultant in both the New York City and Salt Lake City offices of Ernst & Young. Thereafter, Mr Klein became a partner of a real estate and investment firm in Salt Lake City known as The Ritchie Group, LC. Members of The Ritchie Group were among the founding investors of the Oil Tech, Inc. technology in the mid 1990s, which has now been acquired by Ambre Energy. |
 | William Sarunic BApp, MEng Sc Vice President, Project Development, Ambre Energy North America, Inc. Mr Sarunic received a Bachelor’s degree in 1990 from the University of South Australia in Applied Geology. He has subsequently earned a Masters degree in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of New South Wales. Mr Sarunic has over 10 years of onsite experience in the mining industry as a geologist, engineering geologist, and geotechnical engineer. Before joining Ambre Energy, Mr Sarunic was a Divisional Manager and Principal Geotechnical Consultant for Snowden Mining Industry Consultants in Perth, Australia. Mr Sarunic has been involved in mining feasibility projects from around the world and in a number of commodities, including iron ore, coal, gold, nickel, mineral sands, platinum and lead-zinc. |
 | Matthew Fleming Vice President, Corporate Development, Ambre Energy North America, Inc. Matthew Fleming joined Ambre Energy North America, Inc. in September 2008 as Vice President Corporate Development. Prior to joining Ambre Energy North America, Inc., he was a shareholder at the law firm of Parr Brown Gee & Loveless, P.C., where he specialized in mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance and represented clients in the mining and energy industries. From 2008 to 2009, he served as the Chair of the Securities Law Section of the Utah State Bar. Mr. Fleming received a law degree (Order of the Coif) in 2001 from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University. |
 | Derek Thomson BBus, MBA, CPA Chief Financial Officer, Ambre Energy North America, Inc. Mr. Thomson has over 20 years of international financial experience in over a dozen countries. Mr. Thomson has lived in New York since 1999, when he joined JP Morgan's Global Telecom Media and Technology Investment Banking Group. While at JP Morgan, he participated in over US$1.5 billion of equity capital raised in NASDAQ IPOs and global large-cap ($10 billion+) telecom mergers and acquisitions transactions. Mr. Thomson also participated in equity research sector coverage and private equity investment management. After leaving JP Morgan, Mr. Thomson remained in New York and was Managing Director of Ikon Capital, a financial services business where he provided CFO and Board of Directors services for private corporate clients and companies undertaking IPOs. Mr. Thomson started his finance career with BHP in the Minerals and Petroleum divisions working in Australia, US and the UK. Mr. Thomson holds a Bachelor of Business from the University of Tasmania, an MBA from the Melbourne School of Business (University of Melbourne) and Duke University Fuqua School of Business in the US. |
 | Jeff Torkington BE (Mining) General Manager - Mining Mr Torkington graduated as a Bachelor of Engineering (Mining) with honours from the University of New South Wales in 1989, holds an Open Cut Mine Managers Certificate of Competency in New South Wales and is a member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. Jeff has 20 years of experience in the mining industry having held senior positions in technical, operational leadership, and project management fields with Rio Tinto and Peabody Coal. Prior to joining Ambre Energy, Jeff held the position of Principal Advisor - Mining for Rio Tinto responsible for providing technical and operational expertise to their global operations. |
 | Nicholas Drinnan BSc, BA(Hon), PhD(Chem) Manager, Research & Development Dr Drinnan completed his tertiary education at the University of Queensland where he received majors in the fields of chemistry, pure mathematics and philosophy. He has also undertaken postgraduate studies in organic chemistry (PhD), philosophy (BA(Hons)) and intellectual property (Masters of Industrial Property (MIP)). Dr Drinnan spent almost seven years at Alchemia Ltd working as a synthetic organic chemist. In addition to his scientific duties, he was also responsible for intellectual property management. In order to further his studies in intellectual property, Dr Drinnan left Alchemia in 2004 to join patent attorney firm of Davies Collison Cave which he subsequently left to join Ambre Energy. |
 | Jason Russell BSc Exploration Manager Mr Russell graduated with a science degree from the University of Newcastle. He has experience in grass roots exploration, resource delineation and geotechnical monitoring for a number of coal deposits and operations within the Sydney, Hunter, Surat and Bowen basins. He has worked for Glencore, Anglo and AMCI. Mr Russell is also experienced in coal mine production and supply through his work at Mt Owen, German Creek and Millennium Coal. Mr Russell manages Ambre Energy’s exploration programs and has extensive experience in exploration management and open cut production. He is currently a member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. |
 | Mark Fraser BCom Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary Mr Fraser completed a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Newcastle in 2006. Prior to joining Ambre Energy, he worked for two and a half years at a public accounting firm in Newcastle providing business and taxation services. Mr Fraser has been largely responsible for successfully transitioning the financial reporting regime of Ambre Energy to comply with the Australian equivalents to International Financial Reporting Standards and other public company requirements. |
