What We Do

Ambre Energy is developing and commercialising new technologies for the more effective use of coal as a source of energy, as well as developing complementary coal mining projects.

The 2 coal processing technologies being developed by the company are as follows:

  1. A Hybrid Energy System for the low temperature pyrolysis of coal to produce synthetic crude oil and a high energy solid char product for coal-fired power plants and steel manufacturers;
  2. The gasification of coal to produce cleaner power, fuels and inputs for other chemicals such as fertilizers.

Each of these technologies will be demonstrated at commercial scale via the construction of plants in Australia and the USA.

The gasification technology will be demonstrated at the site of Ambre Energy’s own 900 million tonne coal deposit at Felton near Toowoomba, Australia – the Felton Clean Coal Project.

The Hybrid Enery System will be demonstrated in the US. Negotiations have commenced for potential projects in the Gulf Coast region (Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi) and in the North West (Wyoming and Montana).
