Our company

Our strategy

Ambre Energy’s goal is to provide affordable energy to our US customers and to Asia’s modern and emerging economies.

Already, we are well down the track of creating a major, competitive supply of US thermal coal via the Pacific Northwest.

We will continue to work with our partners, government and the community to:

  • develop export capacity at our infrastructure sites
  • expand production with our joint venture mining partners
  • source coal from third party US coal producers
  • supply domestic and Asian customers with high quality coal.

Our actions

Ambre Energy is operating and expanding the Millennium Bulk Terminals-Longview facility in Washington State (with joint venture partner Arch Coal) while also developing the proposed Morrow Pacific project, a coal barging and transloading operation in Oregon, USA.

Further, we are the operator and co-owner of two thermal coal mines – Black Butte mine in Wyoming and Montana’s Decker mine.

An efficient rail network, serviced by several carriers, connects our proposed coal export terminals with western US coal regions.

Once port capacity is established, our international coal marketing and trading team will source coal from western US mines to supply our Asian customers, commencing in South Korea.

Ambre Energy is committed to high environmental standards.

Transport methods used for our Morrow Pacific project exceed environmental safety standards. The coal unloading facility and storage area are enclosed, as are the conveyors that transport coal and load barges, and the barges themselves.
